History
WITCH was built as MIDGE RCOD No3
The witch restoration started in 2003 when she was found in Cookes Yard Maldon in a sorry state. At that time she belonged to Paul Jefferies and Steph Valentine, barge owners, who I understand had bought Witch some years ago in the hope of renovating her when times were less busy. Because of the enthusiasm of the ECOD association they agreed to donate Witch to the association so that she could be renovated and seen sailing again on the east coast. The driving force at that time was Ian Lindsey who managed the project and contributed enormously to planning and fund raising efforts, raising in excess of ?10,500 (ECOD website)
