History

Built in 1938 as the OPTIMIST by Lady Bee at Shoreham by Sea. WICKEN is one of two hulls designed by C W Bernards but differs in accommodation from that of sister vessel. Her history prior to 1962 is uncertain but it is believed that she spent many of her early years in the Channel Islands. She underwent a major restoration in 1962 when her rig was changed from ketch cutter to Bermudan ketch. April 2007
