History

William Fife built Dublin Bay Cutter acquired by the Scottish maritime Museum in1985 Straight-stemmed, carvel -built, deep and narrow in design - 'plank on edge' style. Heavy displacement. Short racing career as the popularity of the class was shortlived. GH Mar 2015 The museum’s intention is to fully restore, and thereafter maintain, the vessel for use as a dry sailer for public use. The restoration and maintenance will be carried out by the museum’s experienced in-house boatbuilding team at the museum's workshop, working with trainees and apprentices from the museum's City & Guilds accredited boatbuilding school. The museum anticipates that the restoration to fully useable condition will take two years. SMM 2015
