History
SYBARYTE is a 28ft motor cruiser, built by the Medway Yacht Basin, Borstal, Rochester originally for a Mr Salisbury in1937.
When new she was displayed at the Earls Court Boat Show in October 1937 and also featured in in an article in 'The Motor Boat' March 11 1938. She is described as being 'exceedingly robust and well-built. Nowhere is there a skimping of scantlings'. She could well be a sea boat as well as for inland waters.
SYBARYTE is an interesting and unusual boat with a fully documented history, including previous owners. The present owner is engaged upon restoring SYBARYTE during the next year at Wisbech, before relaunching her. 26th Jan 2013 NRJ
