History
Built by Crossfields, possibly in their Conwy yard about 1920 and designed specifically for cruising in the Dee estuary. SUNBEAM was bought by Mr Edward Robinson in 1938 and featured in his two books ‘Down River to Sea’ and ‘Cheerfully at Sea’. In the 1920’s she was fitted with an Amanco 4 hp engine which used parts from a Ford Model T. This was replaced in 1956 with Watermota K2 6 hp. The rig was changed to Bermudan in 1969. The boat was presented to the Merseyside Maritime Museum by Mr and Mrs J Cullen in 1981. November 2007
