History
Built in 1924 as the first of the Norfolk Sailing Punt class. SHRIMP No1 is an example of a traditional boat type that has been adapted for racing. It is based on the wildfowling gun punts widely used on the marshes of East Anglia. It has a single mast and lug rigged sail and is fitted with an iron drop keel and rudder. It is the oldest punt in the class which is still racing on the Norfolk Broads. It was presented to NMM by Mr John Evans on behalf of the Norfolk Punt Club in 1994. October 2007 (Archive)
