History
Built by Searle of Lambeth, London in 1867. This particular canoe is believed to be the second ‘ROB ROY' built and was the one MacGregor paddled and sailed over a thousand miles in the Baltic. A detailed description appears in his narrative ‘Rob Roy in the Baltic’: a classic tale that became a best-seller. It was exhibited at the Paris Exhibition of 1889 and presented to NMM in 1991 by the Royal Canoe Club as part of their 125th Anniversary celebrations. October 2007
