History
The Axe O D was designed by Jack Drew, vice-commodore of Axe Yacht Club and later built by him over his shop in Taunton. It was an inexpensive design for local racing suitable for the open sea and launching from a beach. Although no more than 20 were built, the class continues to race both at Axmouth and at Fowet - see notes in Classic Boat 2009 January page 93 and contact www.axeonedesign.com December 2010 (Picture courtesy of Classic Boat)
