History
It is believed MERMAID was built by Lukes on the Itchen in 1900 ??? and has been at Itchen Ferry since then. She was bought by Mr Ben Candy and his brother, Arthur. MERMAID is now the last unconverted smack left in the Southampton area. Her fishing number SU 117 was defaced with a diagonal red line in 1993. She came into the ownership of Mr B A Marshall in 1989. Offered to NMMC in need of Restoration GH July 2012
