History
This unnamed Exe Lugger a rare survivor of of a type once common on the Exe Estuary used for fishing and for the carriage of goods and passengers between Exmouth Topsham and Lympstone. Market boats were once common on navigiable rivers throughout the British Isles some later examples on the Tamar and Dart were steam powered. This particular lugger was probably built about 1900 Apl 2014 GH
