History
It is believed that this vessel was built about 1950. It is one of relatively few examples of rafts found in Africa. It is built from poles of light wood arranged in a boat-like form. The buoyancy comes from that of individual poles and not from the buoyancy of the hull as a watertight whole. The boat was presented to NMM by Dr David Lewis in 1967. October 2007
