History
LADY ELIZABETH was built about 1895 by the Monarch Co of New York State, USA.. It is believed that when built, this launch was a motor boat with an early non-reversing internal combustion engine. It sank off Cockshot Point at Bowness-on-Windermere some time after 1955 was salvaged and fitted with a 1910 Lune Valley Boiler and Burner, designed by Windermere inventor Jack Kitchen. The single cyl steam engine is of an unknown vintage. Sep 2010 GH
