History
JOLLY BRIT was built by John Brown's Shipyard on the Clyde as one of six open launches for the Royal Yacht BRITANNIA. These launches were hung in davits, either side of the funnel. She was used as a Jolly boat for the Royal family's trips ashore. In 1993 she was found in a state of disrepair on the Grand Union Canal, with engine missing. She has since been completely restored by her present owner, including a new British Leyland Commodore 3.8 litre diesel engine. She won the Thames Heritage Cup in 2003 at the Thames Traditional Boat Rally. DC Aug 2009
