History
JIM was built in Leith in 1901 for a Mr Proctor of Dysart, Fife, and was the only one of thirty or so racing yawls owned by local miners that was professionally built. These yawls were raced at Dysart and around the Firth of Forth from the 1890's until the 1950's. Up until 1929 the yawls were also used for piloting ships in the Forth. JIM was raced until the early 1950's and was acquired by the Fisheries Museum in the early 1970's. January 2010 (Archive)
