History

Owned by the builder, Ted Appleyard from 1920 until his death in 1995. A friend of Ted's family, Robert Durrent, restored Irene after Ted's death. Irene was sold to another Ted and then after a few years she was sold to Sean Wiles from Ely. In 2013 Alan Seal purchased Irene and took her to Kent. Irene was used for the Olympic Torch Parade and carried the bearer and the torch on The River Cam in 2012. She is now used during the summer months on The River Rother on the Kent Sussex boarder.
