History
Designed by R C W Courtney and built by George Wilson and Sons at Sunbury, HARMONIE III was featured in Motor Boat and Yachting, as Harmonic III, in June 1950 as the first of the Flying Swan Class of motor cruisers. When built she was fitted with a pair of Meadows Shearwater 32hp petrol engines and a novel methof of throttle/ gear operation. Details of a new cheaper single engined 'Fast Day Cruiser' version were announced in 1951 The Flying Swan Class continued to be built by Wilson's for many years as described in a more recent article in 'Boater' the magazine of the Thames Vintage Boat Club.
