History

CHITTABOB IV was built as Royal Corinthian One Design No 1. Designed by G U Laws. Ten built in total by Wm King of Burnham on Crouch, 1-9 between 1913-1914 and the tenth in 1937. The later name change to East Coast One Design was supposed to encourage the take up of the class by other yacht clubs. GH May 2013 Work in progress - This is the start of what could be a much fuller entry and needs further research eg the indications are that her rig was changed in 1937 GH She was recently saved from further destruction having been converted in to a sudo Falmouth Topsail Cutter, which must have been extremely interesting to sail as the ECOD will bury her rail in anything over a gale force 2! In the 1980's she was owned by Arthur Keeble, he over the years restored the boat & raced everywhere he could. Arthur typified the type of sailor that was needed to master her. The ECOD Centenary Cup is raced in honor of Arthur, and was donated by his wife Mary & family. ECOD website
