History
Was built in 1923 by Philip Winram & Sons of Caryl Street, Liverpool for Reg Bushell of Parkgate, Cheshire, who fished her for over 23 years in Liverpool Bay and on the Hilbre and Rhyl banks. Craft like CAPELLA were known as River Dee Jigger boats, jigger referring to the large yawl rig. She was fitted with a 22 hp Ford engine in 1928, which was replaced in 1933 by 7 hp Brit petrol/paraffin engine. Having been sold in 1949 to become a yacht, she was returned to her original rig in about 1956 and her engine was removed in the early 1960s. She was presented to the Merseyside Maritime Museum in 1985 by Mr Eric Berqvist and has undergone conservation work. November 2007
