History

Designed by Nigel Warington Smyth in 1949 and built by Falmouth Boat Construction Ltd. In 1951. BLACK CYGNET is the only sister ship of the designer’s own boat RESTIVE, and was built for his friend Ralph Swann OBE, one time Commodore of the Royal Cruising Club. Her cruises are reported in several of the Club’s annual publications. From 1958 to 1965 she was kept in the Baltic but since then has largely been a West Country boat. She was brought to Falmouth in 1998 and later under went a major refit. Based on the Tamar at Cargreen. Jan 2014 GH
