History
Designed and built by Uffa Fox. AVENGER is claimed by Class Association to be the 'most famous of all dinghies'.Out of 57 starts she finished first 52 times, including the Prince of Wales Cup. Uffa Fox sailed her, three up, a hundred miles across the Channel to race and win against the French, and then sailed home in 37 hours. She was raced again in the 1939 P.O.W. Cup but spent some time in the Midlands and then on the South Coast where she was abandonded. Later she was restored and is now on display at Cowes Museum, Isle of Wight.
