History
The keel of TALA was laid in the mid 1990s by Haj Ali Abd al Rasool, a Kuwaiti master shipwright then in his 80s. Building followed traditional local methods of a type of boom (dhow) called a tishaala. These were generally cargo- carriers, although Tala was built for private use a smaller size example of a larger vessel. Tala is rigged with a traditional dhow rig with mast that rakes forward and a long lanteen sail. February 2009
