History

While the Thames Wherry was mainly used as a water taxi in its day, this boat was designed and built specifically for racing. It is said to have been owned by Lord Morley, a member of London Rowing Club. It was purchased by Mr J Everett from LRC and used by him on a voyage from London up to Reading on the Thames, on through the Kennet and Avon Canal to Bristol and along the Severn to Gloucester. From there he returned via the Grand Union Canal back to Thames at Brentford. It was presented to NMM in 1983. October 2007
