History
SUHAILI was built in Bombay to William Atkin's 1923 design for a seaworthy 32ft yacht. She started as a project between Robin Knox -Johnston, a Second Officer serving on a British India passenger vessel trading between Bombay and Basra and two of his fellow officers Peter Jordan and Mike Ledingham. SUHAILI was sailed from India to UK in late 1965.
Sailed by Robin Knox Johnston, she set out from Falmouth 4 June 1968 for the first single handed non-stop passage round world. She arrived back in Falmouth 22 April 1969. Displayed for a short period in the Neptune Hall at Greenwich from 1997 - 2002 Jul 2013 GH
