History

VACUNA is a 21ft Class Racing and Sports Launch, being one of two boats of the same name, built in 1911-1912 by Boulton & Paul Ltd. Engineers of Norwich originally fitted with one of their own engines, a type 2E2 No 1460. (Believed to have been restored). She has a vertical bow with tumblehome at the transom stern. A 10ft varnished mahogany and Maple foredeck has a aliding hatch over the engine, followed by a 7ft cockpit with an aft deck of similar construction as the foredeck. It is likely that the engine used for racing would have been more powerful, according to the rules which changed frequently. Because of her light construction very few of these craft has survived and similarly very few craft built by Boulton & Paul are thought now to exist. 8/09/2105 NRJ
