History
GIPSY was built in 1936 by A N Compton of Cowes to an Uffa Fox design as the first of the National 12 Class founded in 1936. The Class was intended to provide a cheaper simpler racing dinghy than the much more expensive International 14's. Early boats were all of ribbed clinker constructuion. In 1986 GIPSY sailed in the 50th Anniversary of the Class and was then donated to the Exeter Maritime Museum GH Oct 16 Sold at auction 26 July 2017 to Private owner GH Aug 17
