History
This 20 ft canoe BRYNHILD was designed by Uffa Fox with the idea of short range cruising. He recognised that the single handed 10 sq metre canoe was too tiring for this purpose and so built a canoe of similar size but with twin sliding seats. To prove his point, he made a prolonged cruise of the Brittany coast in 1936 with his crew, Bill Waight. Later, he used the hull of Brynhild as the prototype of his airborne lifeboats which were dropped from aircraft to ditched aircrew. It is claimed that her design had a major influence on that of Colman's high speed yacht CROSSBOW. March 2008
