History
Ribble Rose was purchased about 25 years ago by an elderly gentleman. He could only tell me that he found her in a creek on the North West coast of Cumbria in a delapidated state. He liked her lines made enquiries and purchased her.He then transported her to Essex to do a rebuild on her.Unfortunately before he finished he had a heart attack so she was laid up in a barn. 'I bought her off ebay last August. She looks like a small Nobby but isn`t,has a rounded counter stern and a central propeller.I think she is about 21 ft long excluding her bow sprit, with a beam of 6ft and a long cast keel. She has a small deck forward of the mast.I have no more information on the boat and can`t find anyone who can tell me what she is but looks to have been made by a craftsman.' Owner.
It is hoped that by putting RIBBLE ROSE on the Register somebody may remember her and be able to supply more details. NRJ July 2012
I have put together an album on my boat Ribble Rose with a picture of a yacht at Arnside in Cumbria sent in 1918 which shows a white yacht in the background which looks the same as my boat. https://flic.kr/s/aHsjCanBh1 P,S. I hope I`ve sent this to the right person if not please can you forward it on. The sails a have a good bit of history as well but don`t look original to the boat but must have been some of the first man made fabric sails made.See right up on the picture of sail manufacturer C.Neilson and Son.
