History
LONE WOLF was built by Ashton and Kilner in 1907 at Hamworthy, Poole as a yacht on Poole fishing boat lines. From 1911 to 1913 she cruised the Baltic as far as Kronstadt, wintering in Sweden. In 1919 to 1921 she sailed to the Mediterranean via the Burgundy canal and the River Rhone, returning to Cowes via Canal du Midi and Biscay. In 1950 she was converted to Bermudan rig but returned to Gaff in 1982. From 1983 tp 1987 she underwent a major refit when her original Seal 3hp petrol engine was replaced with a Yanmar 3GM diesel. In 1989 she was re-rigged with new spars. She continues to cruise the English and French Channel ports, and is actively raced in OGA and club events.
