Yarmouth beach skiff believed to have been built by the Wright brothers of Cobholm c1914 and bought for the museum by the Friends in 1986 A typical Beach Skiff that worked off the beaches in the Yarmouth area. 'Beachmen' caught 'October herring' that swam close to the shore. These herring were small and fat which made them ideal for cooking as Yarmouth Bloaters. Beach boats would carry between 10 and 20 30m nets and a goocatch would be 1500herring GH Nov 2010
