History
CYGNET is a rowing boat built in the shape of a cygnet. Designed by Captain Peacock, she was one of five similar tenders built for the SWAN OF THE EXE in 1861. The SWAN and her Cygnets remained in the Peacock family for many years and were moored on the Exe near Starcross Railway Station. Only one survived into the sixties when it was on display at Exeter maritime Museum. Bought back from ISCA when the museum closed and restored using a grant from the Heritage lottery Fund. CYGNET is now on display at Topsham Museum. Apl 2014 GH
