History

This coracle was built by Christmas Thomas in South Wales about 1960. It is not traditional in Shetland but it is a type that may have been used there in the distant past on lochs. Having found her way to Shetland, she is being kept on display to illustrate the range of building techniques and materials used for boats. November 2009
