History

FOREVER J was one of a small batch of Mermaid class Slipper launches built by J W Brooke Marine Construction Co at Lowestoft in 1936. She was originally designed for a Brooke 2cyl 5B engine and her first name is believed to be ARGOSY and later SHE, JEANNE, JOANNE OF HORNING and ESOX II. Her present owners changed her name to FOREVER J in 2000 shortly after purchasing her. An on-going restoration started in 2001 and this resulted in the vessel winning the Andrews Trophy at the Thames Traditional Boat Rally in 2008. GH Oct2009 (Archive)
