History
Built in 1944 by Staniland at Thorne and accepted by Admiralty in July 1944. She was issued to H M S DIADEM (DIDO class cruiser) thence to Chatham in December 1948. She was later issued to H M S ARK ROYAL in October 1953 and remained there until 1970, being employed as the Captain's launch. She is probably the only one of her class still in original layout and operation. She has been fully restored recently and re-launched in May 2009 at Southampton for successful sea trials. Now moved to Portsmouth Historic Boatyard, where she will be on view to the public, she has become the property of the Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust. June 2009
