History
Believed to have been built as a ships lifeboat in the 1890's which was converted to a motor launch by the time that DIANA first arrived in Jersey. Owned by the Lloyd's Agent H Benest, she took part in two salvage operations between the wars.
DIANA joined the flotilla of small craft that took part in the evacuation of Allied troops from St Malo in June 1940 and was then laid up in St Hellier for the rest of WWII. In the post war days DIANA was often used as the guard boat for the Gorey Regatta. She was restored in 1994 and was presented to Jersey Heritage in 1999 where she is a floating exhibit. Dec 2008 GH
