History
As a Bembridge Redwing the class rules allow KESTREL any type of (red) sail of up to 200sq ft. In 1934 Lord Brabazon fitter her with a rotating aerofoil rig complete with a swivelling mast in 1934. Now restored to sailing condition she has been demonstrated by the Classic Boat Museum several times. Her previously uncontrollable rotary rig (which caused Lord Brabazon to be banned from sailing her at Bembridge Sailing Club!) has now been tamed by the fitting of a disc brake. GH July 2011
