History
WHIMBREL was traditionally built of Iroko as aa Finesse 24 in 1984 by her designer Alan Platt at Thundersley, Essex, and still belongs to her original owner. She has won her class in the Nore Race three times. WHIMBREL has been the subject of several books written by her current owner about sailing in the vessel's designed sailing grounds around the Thames estuary. March 2011 GH (Archive)
