History
Q J & J was built by Robert 'Calla' Emery of Sheringham in 1915 as a 'Hoveller', a larger version of the local crab boats. Hovellers were used for salvage and general work around the coast as well as drift netting for herring. The Q J & J was built for James Davis, Henry Blogg's step-father, and from 1931 to 1937 was owned by Henry Blogg, the well known Coxswain of the Cromer Lifeboat H F BAILEY. The Q J & J is the last known example of a Cromer hoveller. She is currently awaiting restoration at Lowestoft and it is planned to display her at Cromer near the restored H F BAILEY GH Oct 2008 (Archive)
