History

Built in 1891 by Brockbank at Bowness -on -Windermere. In 1904 BAT was used by Isaac Storey and Jack Kitchen for experiments in radio control. With only a stoker on board she was controlled using a wireless mast on a hill overlooking Windermere. Believed to have been used as a motor workboat by Borwicks from 1932 -64. By 1966 BAT was derelict and was bought and restored by Leslie Goldsmith. Unlike other Windermere launches, she is fitted with a keel condensing apparatus which would enable her to be used on tidal waters and may not have ben built for the lake..
