History

Hull built late 19th century as sea worthy flushed deck barge possibly for painting vessels in docks in Holland until, along with sister hull, brought to Horning via Great Yarmouth in the 1920's. HEATHER was converted to pleasure houseboat, commissioned by unknown artist about 1928 by Ernset L Woods, yacht builder. Central superstructure built with coachroof over wells for cooking and art studio located at either end. Bought following WW II by a yard foreman who used her for yard accommodation at Acle. Thereafter moved back to Horning and let as a four berth boat for holiday trade from 1952 to late 1970's.She was abandoned due to change of management. Bought by private owner in 1982. March 2008
