History
This one-off design by Andrew Anderson was built by him and his son in 1926 to 1928 at Penarth, Glamorgan. EMANUEL was first owned by Commander Robert Graham who sailed her widely in Western Europe. In 1934 he sailed her to Newfoundland, Labrador and then to Bermuda. On passage to Bermuda she was seriously damaged and Commander Graham became very ill. Details of the voyage are recorded in Graham's book 'Rough Passage'. After being owned by numerous persons, she was found in 1979 in derelict condition on the Medina River on the Isle of Wight by her present owners. A rebuilding programme started in 1980 which lasted eight years. Since re-launching in 1988, the vessel has sailed widely on the south coast and to the near continent. She is based in Ramsgate Harbour where she forms part of Ramsgate Maritime Museum's collection of heritage vessels. Aug 2013 GH (Archive) (Picture courtesy of owner)
