History
PROVIDER was built by Oliver's of Porthleven as a motor crabber fitted with a 30hp Lister as the main engine and a 10 hp Petter as the auxiliary in 1955. In the early 1980’s PROVIDER was lengthened and fitted with a wheelhouse. She worked out of Porthleven for many years and, briefly, from Newlyn and Plymouth before going to Lowestoft where she continued fishing until 2006. She was found derelict in Canvey Island in 2008 and has been moved to Porthleven for restoration by the Porthleven Development Trust. GH May 2011. (Archive)
