History
Designed by Archie Watty on commission from Sir Charles Hanson in 1928. JOCELYN was built with a sister ship, ANENOME, and raced successfully in 1929. Sufficient interest was created for additional boats to be built and, eventually, the Troy Class Association was formed. Permission to use the name Troy was given by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch (Q), authur of the 'Troy Town' novels and Commodore of Royal Fowey Yacht Cub. JOCELYN sank during Fowey Regatta in 1991 but was raised from 37 feet in a couple of hours to enable racing to continue. She continues to race in local events. - see article in Classic Boat 2004 December page 48. January 2011 (Archive)
